Privacy Policy

This is what Gossip collects, why, and who touches it. Short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell your data, and you can ask us to delete everything.

What we collect
What's public

Bottles you share appear in the feed for other members. Aggregate data — community ratings, average prices paid, cellar counts — appears on public wine pages without names. Your cellar contents, personal notes, and identity are never shown on the public web.

Who processes it

Gossip runs on a small set of services that store or process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and login), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Resend (email), Anthropic (the AI that powers scanning, research, and chat — label photos and chat messages are processed to generate responses), and Google Places (restaurant search, only when you search for a venue). None of them are allowed to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service.

Email

We send sign-in codes, a welcome note, and occasional product updates. Reply to any email or write help@gossip.wine to opt out of non-essential email.

Your choices

Ask us what we have, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and data entirely: help@gossip.wine. Deletion removes your profile, logs, photos, comments, and chat history; aggregate statistics that no longer identify you may persist.

We don't sell personal data. We don't run third-party advertising. If that ever changes, this policy changes first, loudly.
