Barolo, Piedmont, Italy
Cappellano
Cappellano is a tiny, fiercely old-fashioned Barolo family who refused to follow fashion when everyone else modernized. 'Piè Franco' means the vines grow on their own roots — no grafting — which is extraordinarily rare. This is a collector's wine made in minuscule quantities.
