
Auguste Clape built Cornas's reputation almost single-handedly when the appellation was obscure. His son and grandson now run the domaine. This is their straight Cornas — not a single-vineyard selection — and it's considered the benchmark for the region: dark, savory, serious Syrah from old vines on granite.
