Gianfranco Soldera was a famously obsessive Montalcino farmer who believed great wine came from doing almost everything by hand in a rich, biodiverse estate. His Brunello is one of the most sought-after in Italy and sells for hundreds of dollars — made in tiny quantities from very old vines.
