Montevertine is a small Tuscan estate that became famous for refusing to follow the rules: when Chianti regulations required blending in other grapes, owner Sergio Manetti bottled pure Sangiovese under a different name. Le Pergole Torte is that wine, and it remains one of Tuscany's most sought-after bottles.
