Vietti is one of the great old family estates of Piedmont. The Scarrone is their single-vineyard Barbera — a step up from their everyday red, grown on a prized hillside plot. Barbera is Piedmont's workhorse grape: deeply colored, naturally high in acidity, low in tannin.
